46 : 12

وَمِن قَبْلِهِ كِتَابُ مُوسَى إِمَامًا وَرَحْمَةً وَهَذَا كِتَابٌ مُّصَدِّقٌ لِّسَانًا عَرَبِيًّا لِّيُنذِرَ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا وَبُشْرَى لِلْمُحْسِنِينَ

Tafseer

And before it was the scripture of Moses to lead and as a mercy. And this is a confirming Book in an Arabic tongue to warn those who have wronged and as good tidings to the doers of good.

Tafseer

{ ومن قبله } أي القرآن { كتاب موسى } أي التوراة { إماما ورحمة } للمؤمنين به حالان { وهذا } أي القرآن { كتاب مصدق } للكتب قبله { لسانا عربيا } قال لمن الضمير في مصدق { لينذر الذين ظلموا } مشركي مكة { و } هو { بشرى للمحسنين } المؤمنين .

{And before it} meaning the Qur’an {was the Book of Moses} meaning the Torah {as a guide and a mercy} for the believers in it in two states {And this} meaning the Qur’an {is a Book confirming} the books before it {in an Arabic tongue} He said to whom is the pronoun in confirming {to warn those who did wrong} the polytheists of Mecca {and} it {is good tidings for the doers of good} the believers.
