46 : 27

وَلَقَدْ أَهْلَكْنَا مَا حَوْلَكُم مِّنَ الْقُرَى وَصَرَّفْنَا الْآيَاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ

And We have already destroyed what surrounds you of [those] cities, and We have diversified the signs [or verses] that perhaps they might return [from disbelief].

Tafseer

{ ولقد أهلكنا ما حولكم من القرى } أي من أهلها كثمود وعاد وقوم لوط { وصرفنا الآيات } كررنا الحجج البينات { لعلهم يرجعون } .

{And We have destroyed the towns around you} meaning their inhabitants, such as Thamud, Aad, and the people of Lot. {And We have explained the signs} We have repeated the clear proofs {so that they may return}.
