AL 'ANKABUUT (LABA-LABA) — Ayat 14
14
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَى قَوْمِهِ فَلَبِثَ فِيهِمْ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ إِلَّا خَمْسِينَ عَامًا فَأَخَذَهُمُ الطُّوفَانُ وَهُمْ ظَالِمُونَ
And We certainly sent Noah to his people, and he remained among them a thousand years minus fifty years, and the flood seized them while they were wrongdoers.
Tafsir
{And We certainly sent Noah to his people} and he was forty years old or more {and he remained among them for a thousand years less fifty years} calling them to the Oneness of God, but they denied him {so the flood seized them} meaning the great water surrounded them and rose above them and they drowned {while they were wrongdoers} polytheists.
