Tafseer
{ وما تفرق الذين أوتوا الكتاب } في الإيمان به { إلا من بعد ما جاءتهم البينة } أي هو صلى الله عليه وسلم أو القرآن الجائي به معجزة له وقبل مجيئه صلى الله عليه وسلم كانوا مجتمعين على الإيمان به إذا جاءه فحسده من كفر به منهم.
{And those who were given the Scripture did not become divided} in believing in him {until after the clear proof had come to them} meaning him, peace and blessings be upon him, or the Qur’an that he brought as a miracle for him. Before his coming, peace and blessings be upon him, they were united in believing in him when he came to them, so those who disbelieved in him among them envied him.
