And they say, "Legends of the former peoples which he has written down, and they are dictated to him morning and afternoon."

{ وقالوا } أيضا هو { أساطير والأولين } أكاذيبهم: جمع أسطورة بالضم { اكتتبها } انتسخها من ذلك القوم بغيره { فهي تملى } تقرأ { عليه } ليحفظها { بكرة وأصيلاً } غدوة وعشيا قال تعالى ردا عليهم .
{And they said} also {legends of the ancients} their lies: plural of legend with dammah {he wrote it down} he copied it from that people to someone else {so it is dictated} it is read {to him} so that he may memorize it {morning and evening} morning and evening. God Almighty said in response to them.
