فَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَأُهْلِكُوا بِالطَّاغِيَةِ

So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast].

Tafseer

{ فأما ثمود فأهلكوا بالطاغية } بالصيحة المجاوزة للحد في الشدة.

{As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overwhelming blast} by the excessively severe shout.
