آمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَأَنفِقُوا مِمَّا جَعَلَكُم مُّسْتَخْلَفِينَ فِيهِ فَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنكُمْ وَأَنفَقُوا لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ كَبِيرٌ

Tafseer

Believe in Allah and His Messenger and spend out of that in which He has made you successors. For those who have believed among you and spent, there will be a great reward.

Tafseer

{ آمنوا } داوموا على الإيمان { بالله ورسوله وأنفقوا } في سبيل الله { مما جعلكم مستخلفين فيه } من مال من تقدمكم وسيخلفكم فيه من بعدكم، نزل في غزوة العسرة وهي غزوة تبوك { فالذين آمنوا منكم وأنفقوا } إشارة إلى عثمان رضي الله عنه { لهم أجر كبير } .

{Believe} persist in believing {in God and His Messenger and spend} in the way of God {of that over which He has made you successors} of the wealth of those who came before you and will succeed you in it after you. It was revealed during the Battle of Al-Usrah, which is the Battle of Tabuk. {So those among you who have believed and spent} referring to Uthman, may God be pleased with him, {will have a great reward}.
