إِنَّا هَدَيْنَاهُ السَّبِيلَ إِمَّا شَاكِرًا وَإِمَّا كَفُورًا

Indeed, We guided him to the way, be he grateful or be he ungrateful.

Tafseer

{ إنا هديناه السبيل } بينا له طريق الهدى ببعث الرسل { إما شاكرا } أي مؤمنا { وإما كفورا } حالان من المفعول، أي بينا له في حال شكره أو كفره المقدرة ، و إما لتفصيل الأحوال.

{Indeed, We showed him the way} We showed him the path of guidance by sending the messengers {either grateful} that is, a believer {or ungrateful} two states of the object, that is, We showed him the implied state of his gratitude or ungratefulness, or to detail the states.
