Have you feared to present before your consultation charities? Then when you do not and Allah has forgiven you, then [at least] establish prayer and give zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger. And Allah is Acquainted with what you do.
Tafseer
{ أأشفقتم } بتحقيق الهمزتين وإبدال الثانية ألفا وتسهليها وإدخال ألف بين المسهلة والأخرى وتركه، أي خفتم من { أن تقدِّموا بين يدي نجواكم صدقات } لفقر { فإذا لم تفعلوا } الصدقة { وتاب الله عليكم } رجع بكم عنها { فأقيموا الصلاة وآتوا الزكاة وأطيعوا الله ورسوله } أي داوموا على ذلك { والله خبير بما تعملون } .
{Are you afraid} by realizing the two hamzas and replacing the second with an alif and making it easy and inserting an alif between the made easy one and the other and leaving it, meaning are you afraid of {that you should offer charity before your private conversation} due to poverty {then if you do not do} charity {and God turns to you in forgiveness} He turns you back from it {then establish prayer and give zakat and obey God and His Messenger} meaning continue to do that {and God is All-Aware of what you do}.
