O you who have believed, do not make allies of a people with whom Allah has become angry. They have despaired of [reward in] the Hereafter just as the disbelievers have despaired of [meeting] the inhabitants of the graves.
Tafseer
{O you who have believed, do not take as allies those upon whom Allah has become angry} - they are the Jews. {They have despaired of the Hereafter} - of its reward, despite their belief in it, due to their opposition to the Prophet, despite their knowledge of his truthfulness, {just as the disbelievers} - those who are {of the people of the graves} - that is, those buried - have despaired of the good of the Hereafter, when their seats in Paradise, had they believed, are shown to them, and what they will end up in of the Fire.
