83 : 13

إِذَا تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِ آيَاتُنَا قَالَ أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ

When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples."

Tafseer

{ إذا تتلى عليه آياتنا } القرآن { قال أساطير الأولين } الحكايات التي سطرت قديما جمع أسطورة بالضم أو إسطارة بالكسر.

{When Our verses are recited to him} the Qur’an {he says, “Legends of the ancients”} the stories that were written down in ancient times. The plural of legend with a dammah or legend with a kasrah.
