83 : 14

كَلَّا بَلْ رَانَ عَلَى قُلُوبِهِم مَّا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ

No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning.

Tafseer

{ كلا } ردع وزجر لقولهم ذلك { بل ران } غلب { على قلوبهم } فغشيها { ما كانوا يكسبون } من المعاصي فهو كالصدأ.

{No!} This is a deterrent and rebuke for their saying that. {Rather, the rust} has overcome {their hearts} and covered them {of sins they were earning}, so it is like rust.
