73 : 10

وَاصْبِرْ عَلَى مَا يَقُولُونَ وَاهْجُرْهُمْ هَجْرًا جَمِيلًا

And be patient over what they say and avoid them with gracious avoidance.

Tafseer

{ واصبر على ما يقولون } أي كفار مكة من أذاهم { واهجرهم هجرا جميلا } لا جزع فيه وهذا قبل الأمر بقتالهم.

{And be patient over what they say} meaning the harm they cause to the infidels of Mecca {and leave them with gracious leave} without any impatience in it. This was before the command to fight them.
