'Aad denied; and how [severe] were My punishment and warning.

{ كذبت عاد } نبيهم هودا فعذبوا { فكيف كان عذابي ونذر } إنذاري لهم بالعذاب قبل نزوله أي وقع موقعه وقد بينه بقوله .
{The tribe of Aad denied} their prophet Hud, so they were punished. {How was My punishment and My warnings?} My warning them of the punishment before it descended, that is, it took place. He explained this by saying:
