54 : 4

وَلَقَدْ جَاءهُم مِّنَ الْأَنبَاء مَا فِيهِ مُزْدَجَرٌ

And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrence -

Tafseer

{ ولقد جاءهم من الأنباء } أخبار إهلاك الأمم المكذبة رسلهم { ما فيه مزدجر } لهم اسم مكان والدال بدل من تاء الافتعال وازدجرته وزجرته: نهيته بغلظة وما موصولة أو موصوفة .

{And there has certainly come to them of the news} news of the destruction of the nations that denied their messengers {that which was a deterrent} for them. It is a place name and the dal is a substitute for the taa’ of the verb “to warn.” I warned him and I warned him harshly. Ma is a relative pronoun or a description.
