لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا هَذَا نَحْنُ وَآبَاؤُنَا مِن قَبْلُ إِنْ هَذَا إِلَّا أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ

We have been promised this, we and our forefathers, before. This is not but legends of the former peoples."

Tafseer

{ لقد وعدنا هذا نحن وآباؤنا من قبل إن } ما { هذا إلا أساطير الأولين } جمع أسطورة بالضم أي ما سطر من الكذب.

{We and our forefathers were promised this before.} {This is nothing but legends of the ancients.} The plural of legend is “legends,” meaning what was written down as a lie.
