24 : 5

إِلَّا الَّذِينَ تَابُوا مِن بَعْدِ ذَلِكَ وَأَصْلَحُوا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

Except for those who repent thereafter and reform, for indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

Tafseer

{ إلا الذين تابوا من بعد ذلك وأصلحوا } عملهم { فإن الله غفور } لهم قذفهم { رحيم } بهم بإلهامهم التوبة فيها ينتهي فسقهم وتقبل شهادتهم وقيل لا تقبل رجوعا بالاستثناء إلى الجملة الأخيرة.

{Except for those who repent after that and amend} their deeds {then God is Forgiving} of their slander {and Merciful} to them by inspiring them to repent, thereby ending their wickedness and accepting their testimony. It was said that it is not accepted, returning with the exception to the last sentence.
