So to that [religion of Allah ] invite, [O Muhammad], and remain on a right course as you are commanded and do not follow their inclinations but say, "I have believed in what Allah has revealed of the Qur'an, and I have been commanded to do justice among you. Allah is our Lord and your Lord. For us are our deeds, and for you your deeds. There is no [need for] argument between us and you. Allah will bring us together, and to Him is the [final] destination."
Tafseer
{ فلذلك } التوحيد { فادع } يا محمد الناس { واستقم } عليه { كما أمرت ولا تتبع أهواءهم } في تركه { وقل آمنت بما أنزل الله من كتاب وأمرت لأعدل } أي بأن أعدل { بينكم } في الحكم { الله ربنا وربكم لنا أعمالنا ولكم أعمالكم } فكل يجازى بعمله { لا حجة } خصومة { بيننا وبينكم } هذا قبل أن يؤمر بالجهاد { الله يجمع بيننا } في المعاد لفصل القضاء { وإليه المصير } المرجع.
{Therefore} monotheism {so call} O Muhammad, to the people {and be steadfast} upon it {as you have been commanded and do not follow their inclinations} in abandoning it {and say, "I have believed in what Allah has revealed of the Book, and I have been commanded to be just} that is, to be just {between you} in judgment {Allah is our Lord and your Lord. To us are our deeds, and to you are your deeds} so each will be rewarded according to his deeds {there is no argument} dispute {between us and you} this was before he was commanded to strive {Allah will gather us} in the afterlife to separate the judgment {and to Him is the final destination}.
