Who will inherit me and inherit from the family of Jacob. And make him, my Lord, pleasing [to You]."

{ يَرثني } بالجزم جواب الأمر وبالرفع صفة وليا { ويرث } بالوجهين { من آل يعقوب } جدّي ، العلم والنبوة { واجعله رب رضيا } أي: مرضيا عندك . قال تعالى في إجابة طلبه الابن الحاصل به رحمته :
{He shall inherit me} in the jussive mood as a response to the command, and in the nominative case as an attribute of guardianship. {And he shall inherit} in both ways. {From the family of Jacob} my grandfather, knowledge and prophethood. {And make him, my Lord, pleasing} meaning: pleasing to You. God Almighty said in response to his request for a son through whom He would obtain His mercy:
