47 : 13

وَكَأَيِّن مِّن قَرْيَةٍ هِيَ أَشَدُّ قُوَّةً مِّن قَرْيَتِكَ الَّتِي أَخْرَجَتْكَ أَهْلَكْنَاهُمْ فَلَا نَاصِرَ لَهُمْ

And how many a city was stronger than your city [Makkah] which drove you out? We destroyed them; and there was no helper for them.

Tafseer

{ وكأين } وكم { من قرية } أريد بها أهلها { هي أشد قوة من { قريتك } مكة أي أهلها { التي أخرجتك } روعي لفظ قرية { أهلكناهم } روعي معنى قرية الأولى { فلا ناصر لهم } من إهلاكنا .

{And how many} and how many {of a town} meaning its people {was mightier than {your town} Mecca, meaning its people {which expelled you} the word town was taken into account {We destroyed them} the meaning of the first town was taken into account {so they have no helper} from Our destruction.
