47 : 8

وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فَتَعْسًا لَّهُمْ وَأَضَلَّ أَعْمَالَهُمْ

But those who disbelieve - for them is misery, and He will waste their deeds.

Tafseer

{ والذين كفروا } من أهل مكة مبتدأ خبره تعسوا يدل عليه { فتعسا لهم } أي هلاكا وخيبة من الله { وأضل أعمالهم } عطف على تعسوا .

{And those who disbelieved} from the people of Mecca is the subject, and its predicate is “wretched” which indicates it. {So wretched is for them} meaning destruction and disappointment from God. {And He rendered worthless their deeds} is in apposition to “wretched.”
