قَالُوا رَبُّنَا يَعْلَمُ إِنَّا إِلَيْكُمْ لَمُرْسَلُونَ

They said, "Our Lord knows that we are messengers to you,

Tafseer

{ قالوا ربنا يعلم } جار مجرى القسم، وزيد التأكيد به وباللام على ما قبله لزيادة الإنكار في { إنا إليكم لمرسلون } .

{They said, “Our Lord knows.”} It is an oath, and emphasis was added to what preceded it by the letter “lam” to increase the denial in {Indeed, we are messengers to you.}
