Tafseer Ibn Kathir of AN NAHL [47]

أَوْ يَأْخُذَهُمْ عَلَى تَخَوُّفٍ فَإِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ لَرؤُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ

Or that He would not seize them gradually [in a state of dread]? But indeed, your Lord is Kind and Merciful.
