Tafseer Ibn Kathir of YAA SIIN [31]

أَلَمْ يَرَوْا كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّنْ الْقُرُونِ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ لاَ يَرْجِعُونَ

Have they not considered how many generations We destroyed before them - that they to them will not return?
