Tafseer Ibn Kathir of AL HAAQQAH [10]

فَعَصَوْا رَسُولَ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَهُمْ أَخْذَةً رَّابِيَةً

And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity].
